Main ContentTrauma Fellowship Education
We have several didactic offerings as well as other educational opportunities.
Trauma didactic lectures are scheduled regularly (defined by our two-year curriculum) and aimed at the residents and fellow. The trauma fellow attends these lectures with the goal of presenting to the residents in the latter half of the year. Presentation coaching and guidance will be given by the trauma faculty aimed at developing you as a teacher.
Every Friday there is a subspecialty trauma conference aimed at discussing the week’s cases. Following this, there is one on one interactive fellow-faculty educational session directed at a topic of the fellow’s choosing.
Other educational activities include a monthly trauma journal club, monthly M&M conference, and university wide multidisciplinary trauma conference and M&M. Trauma PI and M&M- 1st Monday each month
Course/Conference Offerings:
There are several courses directed towards trauma fellows every year (Stryker Pelvic Course, AO Pelvis/acetabular course, AO fellows Course, OTA fellows course) as well as the OTA and AAOS conferences. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted planning however our goal is to support the fellow to attend 2 courses and 1 conference per year.
